w@tt receives ECOSOC status!
That is the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. We are very proud to have been accepted in what appears to be a record amount of time and in the first round of applications. This status, which is rarely granted to such a young NGO and in such record time, will allow us to increase w@tt’s gender platform engagement in Geneva, New York, Vienna & Nairobi.
We’re convinced that this status will help cement Women@theTable’s visibility and the International Gender Champions influence (and of course International Geneva) in a way that will further increase impact. We are already planning what we will do for Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in March 2019 in New York to make the link between our work on Gender & Cities, and our work on AI & Gender with the CSW 2019 theme of 'Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls', as well as the review theme of 'Women’s empowerment and the link to sustainable development'.
We are on to the next level of our advocacy work, and here to stay for the long term. w@tt!
