We were thrilled and proud join the @women7official to elaborate demands to G7 leaders on gender equality and critically reflect on the outcomes of Germany’s G7 Presidency.
In particular we worked with the Accountability Framework group toa dopt accountability frameworks regarding G7 commitments on gender equality at home and abroad, including algorithmic accountability for all algorithmic decision-making systems as they disproportionately affect women, girls and the most marginalized.
Women at the Table were honored to be part of an expert consultation to discuss the practical application of the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights to the activities of technology companies.
We submitted our own Women at the Table guidance found here. which was part of a cohort of submissions.
We were further thrilled to have our guidance included as a footnote in the practical application of the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights to the activities of technology companies Report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, which can be found here.
Strong political will is a prerequisite for effective accountability. The accountability mechanisms should be part of the standing agenda in each G7 presidency in order to measure, adjust and assess public policies and their impact on women and girls.
