The Africa AI & Equality Toolbox
The African AI & Equality Toolbox, an initiative of Women At The Table, is designed to empower African stakeholders—policymakers, technologists, civil society actors, and communities—to shape AI systems that are contextually relevant, inclusive, and grounded in human rights.

We are seeking a Social Media & Communications Intern to support the implementation of our communications strategy for the Africa AI & Equality Toolbox — We are looking for someone to help us share our work, build community, and experiment with creative digital tools that make African knowledge more visible and accessible.

About Women At The Table
Women at the Table is a growing global civil society organization based in Geneva, Switzerland. Women at theTable is the first organization to focus on systems change by helping feminists gain influence in sectors that have key structural impact: economy, democracy and governance, technology and sustainability.

We expose the systematic exclusion of women in defining the rules, and pinpoint the strategic changes to laws, regulations and norms needed to achieve gender equality and a stronger democracy. By connecting the right people, at the right place at the right time, women are influentially involved in all levels of decision-making, so change can happen now.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the rollout of the Africa AI & Equality Toolbox communications and visibility plan.
  • Manage, schedule, and publish posts across social media platforms (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram, and others).
  • Create engaging, visually appealing content (graphics, reels, stories, podcasts, blog snippets, short videos).
  • Use AI-based tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Canva Magic Studio, Notion AI, Buffer, etc.) to help automate workflows and streamline content creation and scheduling.
  • Track analytics and engagement, and help identify opportunities to grow our reach and impact.
  • Lead public-facing outreach—drafting posts, responding to messages, and sharing partner updates.
  • Collaborate with international team members to maintain consistent messaging and tone.
  • Contribute ideas for digital campaigns, launches, and creative storytelling.

Ideal Candidate

  • Loves social media and has experience in communications, digital media, or content creation, or is eager to learn and build those skills.

  • Curious and open to experimenting with AI tools for digital communication
  • Creative, self starter, dynamic
