Fit for Whom? Sex-Stratified Data and the Integrity of High-Risk AI

7 July 2026 | 10:00–10:45 | ITU Room H2, Geneva
Organized by Women at the Table and FemTechnology

AI systems are being deployed on women without being validated on women. As the inaugural Global Dialogue on AI Governance sets multilateral standards for the first time, sex-stratified data requirements must be embedded now — not retrofitted later at greater cost, and after further harm. Drawing on three recent research papers, this session presents evidence of the cascade from male-default data to biased outputs across healthcare, criminal justice, and social care, then maps what needs to change in data standards, validation requirements, and governance frameworks.

Speakers

  • H.E. Ambassador Muhammadou Kah, Permanent Representative of The Gambia to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva
  • Yu Ping Chan, Head of Partnerships and Engagement, Digital, AI and Innovation Hub, UNDP
  • Oriana Kraft, FemTechnology.org
  • Moderator:  Caitlin Kraft-Buchman, Women at the Table (W@TT)
